"I know now that I have a choice, and I choose to change no matter what the cost."
"Warm Bodies" is not your typical zombie story. It's also not JUST a zombie story. It's more a story of how we fear those who are different from us and that which we do not understand. The zombie narrator, R, (he does not remember his Living name) does his share of throat-ripping and brain-eating, but he also demonstrates how mutual love and compassion can inspire one to change, and how in so doing, one can change the world.
This is a fabulous debut novel from Isaac Marion, and I can't wait to see what he does next. I hope the coming movie does the book justice.
